Hamilton‘s Okieriete Onaodowan is joining Shondaland’s Grey’s Anatomy spin-off that will focus on firefighters. Grey Damon, Danielle Savre, and Barrett Doss have also been cast in the drama.

Onaodowan made headlines recently due to the controversy surrounding Great Comet. After a short time serving in the lead role of the production, it was announced that Mandy Patinkin would be taking over for a limited time. The show then received a great deal of criticism from both those inside and outside of Broadway for cutting a black actor’s run short and replacing him with a white actor.

Onaodowan’s soon-to-be regular appearance on the currently untitled show isn’t his first experience in TV, either. Onaodowan has previously appeared in Netflix’s The Get Down and HBO’s Ballers.

The new show will follow the lives of heroic firefighters on the job, but a Shondaland show wouldn’t be complete without throwing in some drama once everyone is off the clock, too. It’ll launch out of an episode of Grey’s, which currently airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
