Brooke Shields: Donald Trump 'called me right after he had gotten a divorce'

Well, it sounds like Donald Trump didn’t spend too long waiting to put himself back out there following his divorce with Marla Maples in the late ’90s.

In a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Brooke Shields told Andy Cohen a story about the time Donald Trump called her and asked her out in cringeworthy fashion after meeting at a charity event.

“He called me right after he had gotten a divorce and said, ‘I really think we should date because you’re America’s sweetheart and I’m America’s richest man. The people would love it,” she said, drawing a noticeable audience reaction.

The photo that Cohen put up of the two of them together from the aforementioned event was enough to put a bad taste in Shields’ mouth, as she stuck out her tongue in disgust and momentarily appeared to be at a loss for words. As for her response to Trump’s date offer? “I have a boyfriend. He’s not going to really be happy about it.”
