David Letterman returns to late night... on Jimmy Kimmel Live
How does the idea of David Letterman returning to late-night TV sound to you?
Well, you’ll get it for one night only, as the former Late Show host will serve as a guest on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, when Kimmel hosts a week of shows from Brooklyn for the third time.
Kimmel’s idol, Letterman — who will return to TV with a Netflix interview series next year — appeared on a Brooklyn-based JKL installment in 2012. He won’t be the only Late Show alum on JKL, as former bandleader Paul Shaffer will play with the house band, Cleto and The Cletones.
Amy Schumer, Howard Stern, and Tracy Morgan are among the other guests for the Brooklyn shows, which will be filmed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House from Oct. 16-20.
Musical guests include LCD Soundsystem, Billy Joel and Cardi B.
