Carson Daly shares moving goodbye note his mother wrote 19 years before her death
Following the death of his mother Patti Daly Caruso last month, Carson Daly discovered a goodbye note from her written almost 20 years ago. The TV and radio host posted a photo of the moving note on his Instagram Wednesday morning with a caption explaining how his mother was living with breast cancer at the time.
“My sister & I just discovered this ‘goodbye’ letter Mom left in her desk drawer,” he writes. “It was written in the thick of her breast cancer battle. She clearly thought she might not make it. We never knew. This was 1998. She lived almost 20 years longer. She survived and thrived. Never give up.”
Daly also added the hastags #PinkPowerTODAY and #NationalBreastCancerAwarenessMonth in light of October’s devotion to the awareness and research of the disease.
Daly Caruso died from a heart attack Sept. 18 in her Palm Desert, California, home. She was 73. The letter’s visible cursive reads:
“Take good care of yourselves and each other. I’m so proud of you! Each of you have brought me so much joy! Walk closely with God, and be faithful to His word. Teach my grandchildren as you have been taught. Live each day and celebrate life — it is God’s greatest gift! You can feel my love even now — Know I am with you always, your Mommy.”
