TNT announced Tuesday that the upcoming sixth season of drama series Major Crimes will be its last.

For its final season, which premieres Oct. 31, the show will take a serialized turn, with Captain Sharon Raydor (Mary McDonnell) and the rest of the team attempting to track down three murderers. The mysteries will be surrounded by complex political conflicts, forcing the squad to try to sidestep controversial issues.

Major Crimes, which began as a spin-off from The Closer, also will celebrate its milestone 100th episode on Dec. 19.

Major Crimes has successfully navigated the many challenges that arise with a spin-off; the primary mission of which is staying true to its core DNA while expanding into unique territory all its own,” Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT, said in a statement. “From Brenda Leigh Johnson to Commander Sharon Raydor, the cast and crew have done a phenomenal job of creating enduring characters — many of whom are celebrating 200 episodes together this season.”

The two-episode series finale will air on Jan. 16. Take a look at the trailer for the upcoming season above.

Season 6 premieres on Oct. 31 at 9 p.m. on TNT.
