Hail to the chief(s)!

Kevin Spacey has a message of support for Julia Louis-Dreyfus “from one pres. to another” following her announcement last week that she has breast cancer. The House of Cards actor referenced both his role as President Frank Underwood on the Netflix drama and her Emmy-winning run as Selina Meyer on HBO’s Veep with a tweet expressing good wishes to the actress.

“From one Pres to another, you inspire our nation both on TV & in life,” he wrote on social media. “Love to you @OfficialJLD from your seat mate #EmmyDad #BeatCancer.” He also included a video of footage he shot as Louis-Dreyfus’ seat partner at the 2017 Emmy Awards just as her name was called as the winner for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.

Spacey’s #EmmyDad hashtag was in reference to a moment from the ceremony that went viral when TV cameras caught him recording her acceptance speech with his smartphone like a proud parent.

The presidential connection between Dreyfus and Spacey goes way back. In 2014, the actors swapped POTUS places for EW’s “25 Best Characters on TV Right Now” cover.
