Colbert rips Trump for helping Puerto Rico hurricane victims in 'the Trumpiest way possible'
The president tossed paper towels and told people to 'have a good time'
President Trump traveled to storm-ravaged Puerto Rico on Tuesday to interact with victims as only he could — or would — and Stephen Colbert was not impressed by his relief efforts.
In his Late Show monologue, Colbert mocked the POTUS for “Trumpsplaining” the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria to Puerto Rican officials; for awkwardly telling people who are short on food, water, and electricity to “have a good time”; and for handing out much-needed supplies “in the Trumpiest way possible.”
Illustrating the latter point, Colbert played a clip of Trump tossing rolls of paper towels to a crowd of Puerto Rico residents as if he was casually shooting hoops. After that, Colbert quipped, Trump “went to a hospital and distributed antibiotics with a T-shirt cannon.”
