ABC wants to revisit Get Christie Love! and it got Courtney Kemp (Power) to bring the 1970s television detective back to small screens.
The network agreed to pilot a remake of the 1974 made-for-TV film that turned into a (short-lived) crime drama about an undercover female police detective. The title role was played by actress Teresa Graves.
Her signature line was, “you’re under arrest, sugar!” The drama was canceled in 1975 but Graves earned a Golden Globe nominee for her work.
The new iteration, which will drop the exclamation point, will be executive produced by Kemp, the mastermind behind Starz’ successful drama about a New York druglord-cum-club owner, and actor Vin Diesel, among others. Deadline reports there was wide interest for the project.
