Roseanne is coming back after 20 years, and it’s bringing some new characters with it. EW has confirmed that Shameless star Emma Kenney has been cast in the eight-episode revival. She’ll be playing Harris, the daughter of David (Johnny Galecki) and Darlene (Sara Gilbert). The Hollywood Reporter was first to report the news.

Harris did appear in the original Roseanne run, but only as a baby, delivered prematurely in the ninth and final season. Now, she’s recently arrived in Lanford, Illinois, after spending some time in Chicago, but she’s determined to make a better life for herself than her parents or grandparents. Both of Harris’ parents are expected to return for the reboot as well, though Galecki — now a regular on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory — does not have official confirmation yet.

Kenney has played Debbie Gallagher on all eight seasons of Showtime’s Shameless and will continue the role in season 9, premiering on Showtime Nov. 5. Roseanne is set for a midseason start, though no official premiere date has been announced.
