Have you met this How I Met Your Mother fan theory?

If there’s one thing viewers learned from the legen-wait for it-dary CBS sitcom’s nine-season run, it’s that Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) is a womanizer. Whether it was Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, or any other random female patron at MacLaren’s, he was on the prowl.

Yet, a theory, first posted in February, has resurfaced and is making us question everything we ever thought about the series. After 208 episodes, the Emmy-nominated comedy wrapped in 2014, not with Ted (Josh Radnor) living happily ever after with the mother of his children, but with his best friend Barney’s ex-wife, Robin (Cobie Smulders).

Tumblr user gingersaurus suggests Ted had an ulterior motive in telling his story, writing, “That moment when you realize that Barney Stinson was probably not as much of a jerk or a womanizer as he was portrayed to be, but that the story was narrated by future Ted, trying to get his children to approve of him dating Robin again, so future Ted had to make the man Robin married look like the bad guy in the story.”http://gingersaurus.tumblr.com/post/157129266142/that-moment-when-you-realize-that-barney-stinson

Next thing you know someone’s going to suggest Marshall (Jason Segel) roots for the Packers.
