Anything on Japril on Grey’s Anatomy? — Safae
After taking notice of Jackson and Maggie’s chemistry in the finale, April will be quick to confront her former husband about their unspoken romp in Montana. “Everything was okay if nobody was in the mix,” Sarah Drew says. “Now she’s seeing there’s a real potential he could move on and it’s going to cause her to actually force the conversation.”
Should we expect anything we saw in The Defenders to connect with The Punisher? — Timmy
Other than Deborah Ann Woll recurring as Karen Page and the shared setting of New York City, don’t expect to see much of what you saw in the latest Marvel-Netflix series to come up in Frank Castle’s spinoff. “We are stripping down every supernatural element,” Jon Bernthal says. “This show is different. It looks different. Frank is a character rooted in the most basic human emotions… He’s a comic-book character, but he doesn’t fly, he doesn’t have X-ray vision. He’s an unbelievably skilled soldier who’s been very, very angry and very, very hurt.” In other words: The Punisher’s story will feature zero ninjas, zero members of the Hand, and definitely zero dragons.
I think I recall Melissa Benoist mentioning a new Supergirl suit at Comic-Con. Is that happening? — Trisha
As of now, she’s still wearing the same super suit. However, we will see Kara in something new, even if it’s not permanent, later this season. “There is a different suit that I will be wearing at some point this season, but I won’t tell you when or to what capacity,” Melissa Benoist says. “It’s cool, though.”
What do you have on the new season of Modern Family? — Martha
Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives alum Vanessa Williams will pop up in episode 2 as Rhonda, a member of Jay’s country club who takes Haley under her wing.
Anything about Alice on Once Upon a Time please? We’ve got nothing on her for now. — Justine
You should pick up this week’s issue of EW because I dish all about Alice and the other new faces joining the show this season. Here’s a tease: “Alice is a character in the vein of Rumplestiltskin in that you don’t really quite know what she’s up to, where she’s going or where she’s been,” EP Edward Kitsis says. And that’s a fact that Rumple, in particular, will find curious.
Anything The Blacklist? — Raphael
With Red’s empire eviscerated, it sounds like this season will be stuffed with bad guys. I can exclusively reveal that Cosby Show alum Geoffrey Owens and The Night Of‘s Poorna Jagannathan will guest-star in an episode slated for October. Owens will play Dr. Dresner, a black market doctor hired for his medical brilliance and perfect immorality, who is called in to perform a difficult procedure under truly unique circumstances. Jagannathan, meanwhile, will play the world-weary and tough Norah Ahmad, who comes to the U.S. to fulfill a single irrepressible need. She’s determined, ruthless and ready to destroy anything or anyone standing in her way.
Forget Waige! Any scoop on Happy and Toby’s marriage on Scorpion? — Breyenne
While there’s still a question of whether or not Walter and Paige’s relationship will last, Scorpion fans can rest assured that the same can’t be said of newlyweds Toby and Happy. “They dig being married,” EP Nick Santora says.”They’re going to have their own challenges this season [that] may or may not have something to do with the expansion of their family — maybe a little pro-creation or other things of that nature.”
Is the Rollins-Carisi relationship moving forward on SVU at all this season? — Carla
If you were hoping for romance, I wouldn’t hold your breath. “I see them as buddy cops,” showrunner Michael Chernunchin tells me. “If you were doing a buddy cop movie, that’s what they’ll be. I mean, they’ll get closer too, but romantically, I don’t think so.”
Do you have any Black Siren scoop for Arrow? — Diendre
She’s certainly going to be a thorn in Team Arrow’s side when the show returns, but Stephen Amell brings up a really fascinating idea that the show may explore down the line. “She looks exactly like Laurel Lance, she is Laurel Lance,” Amell says. “Laurel Lance is the most famous dead person in Star City, so eventually, at some point, if she is reintroduced into public life, how do we unpack that? I’m excited for that. That’s the dynamic I think could be interesting.”
Will Lucifer and Chloe finally have that heart to heart this season on Lucifer? — Brittany
Yes, Lucifer will honor his promise of revealing the truth to Chloe as soon as the premiere. “It just might not go as smoothly now that he has his wings,” EP Ildy Modrovich says.
This week in TV: Have I watched these episodes a few times? Maybe. Are you going to judge me for it? I don’t care.
That’s a wrap on this week’s Spoiler Room. Don’t forget to tweet your Qs to @NatalieAbrams.
