A fresh look at the new season of Mr. Robot hints that a very big change is coming to one of the show's key relationships.

Since the pilot of the USA drama, Elliot has been meeting with his therapist, Krista, telling her shades of the truth and hacking her alternately. They've certainly made some real progress over the past two seasons, but nothing like what's hinted at in a new clip has occurred before. <iframe src="http://player.theplatform.com/p/OyMl-B/FuzMKey7SGew/select/media/guid/2140458126/3572024" width="480" height="270" frameborder="0" seamless="seamless" allowfullscreen="" class="" scrolling="no" resize="0" replace_attributes="1" name=""></iframe>×GzkFúmï<iÖßå¶ÞoßZÕtÑ·´m÷{ïg»

It's pretty clear that we're about to get a Krista-Mr. Robot showdown. Elliot's alternate personality has been present in the room for his therapy sessions, but there's never been a direct dialogue between the two.

The new season, which premieres on Oct. 11, promises to break some new ground in the dynamic between Elliot and Mr. Robot.

"The whole goal in the first half of the second season was to destroy and erase Mr. Robot," series creator Sam Esmail says. "Again, in a weird way, I think it paralleled what he was trying to do with the Five-Nine hack. He was trying to ignore it and erase it and pretend that he wasn't responsible for it. Now that's all come to pass, so this third season has Elliot facing that challenging. If you can't annihilate the thing that's broken inside of you, how can you heal that wound? What can you do about that?"
