The animated show RWBY has proven a hugely successful addition to the programming of Austin-based production company Rooster Teeth since it premiered in 2013. So, what can fans expect from volume 5 of the series about “Huntresses,” who have been trained battle monsters on the future-fantasy world of Remnant?

“These girls started off going to their academy to learn to be monster-hunters,” says Rooster Teeth chief creative officer Burnie Burns. “It’s been really fun to make a series where the characters are aging up, [not] just in years, but in experience as well. The series has been through some ups and downs narratively and this season is very pivotal, where there’s a chance that they could get all back together, see where everybody is, see the journey that people have taken.”

Rooster Teeth has partnered with Fathom Events to screen the premiere of RWBY Volume 5 in movie theaters on Oct. 12. It will then stream on Rooster Teeth FIRST on Oct. 14.

It was recently announced that this year’s RWBY panel at New York Comic Con will take place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden from 2-3 p.m. ET on Oct. 6.
