To celebrate Fall TV and our huge Fall TV Preview issue — hitting stands on Sept. 15 — EW is bringing you 50 scoops in 50 days, a daily dish on some of your favorite shows. Follow the hashtag #50Scoops50Days on Twitter and Instagram to keep up with the latest, and check EW.com/50-Scoops for all the news and surprises.

Mickey (Kaitlin Olson) won’t be the only mess this season on The Mick: Michaela Watkins is joining the Fox comedy in a recurring guest role to play a wealthy divorcée at rock bottom.

Along with starring in Hulu’s Casual, Watkins is also a go-to guest star for comedies; her recent credits include Speechless, Angie Tribeca, Family Guy, and Veep. She also starred in ABC’s short-lived but beloved Trophy Wife opposite Malin Åkerman, Marcia Gay Harden, and Bradley Whitford from 2013 to 2014.

On The Mick, Watkins will play Trish, a new friend of Mickey’s who gets a crush on Jimmy (Scott MacArthur), a development that causes Mickey to reevaluate her relationship with him.

“I wanted to make sure we explored the Mickey-Jimmy relationship this year, because I think it’s such an interesting dynamic,” Olson tells EW. Creators Dave and John Chernin further reveal, “There’s a lot of high and lows in the Jimmy-Mickey romance this year.”

The Mick returns for its second season Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 9 p.m. on Fox.
