Game of Thrones: 5 questions we want answered in the season finale
Will the show finally stop dancing around Jon Snow's parentage?
Let’s be honest: the Game of Thrones season finales have shown in the past that they don’t commonly drop answers to one of our burning questions, let alone five. That said, there are a lot of loose ends left dangling since the game-changing events of season 7’s penultimate episode, “Beyond the Wall.”
If the headline didn’t tip you off, this story is dark and full of spoilers. Turn back around if you still need time to catch up.
One of these questions involves a long-running mystery that will likely continue into the next (and final!) season: Will Jon Snow’s full parentage finally be revealed? Last season proved Lyanna Stark, Ned Stark’s sister, is the mother of Jon, and fans keeping tabs on such things figured out who his father was. Then in the “Eastwatch” episode, it seemed like Jon’s pop was about to be revealed through Gilly, but she was interrupted by Sam.
It’s the final countdown. Let’s have at it!
Other lingering questions involve Cersei and what her actions will be when she meets the King of the North, what the Night King has planned with his new… let’s say “pet,” and what’s going to happen between Sansa and Arya in light of all the tension brewing between them.
Watch the video above for more burning questions and send us a raven with your theories.
The 80-minute Game of Thrones season finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO.
