Looks like someone needs a Fidget Spinner

Saturday Night Live brought back some of the politically charged comedic buffooneries we’ve been missing since the season 42 finale in May. With the premiere of the Weekend Update: Summer Edition telecast on Thursday night came cast members Mikey Day and Alex Moffatt as Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, respectively, for a chat with cohost Colin Jost.

“Thanks for letting us come here and talk about some of the amazing things my father is doing,” Day’s Donald started in, but he soon had to play damage control when his sibling tried to help. “ISIS is on the ropes, the border has never been more secure, and the story of the summer…”

“When you met with the Russians?” Moffatt’s Eric chimed in.

“No, Eric. That’s our surging economy. No one cares about my meeting with the Russians anymore,” Donald said.

“But last week you got some peanuts,” Eric said, though he meant “subpoena.”

“All my father did was give me some advice,” Donald said regarding the Russian collusion claims. “He said, son, go out there and tell the truth.”

“And then he winked,” Eric added. That was Donald’s cue to bring out Eric’s favorite playtime distraction, the Fidget Spinner, while he handled the big-boy responsibilities.

Day shared a snap of him and Moffatt in character backstage in the studio. “Brothers from different mothers in real life and the same mother on TV,” he tweeted.

Bill Hader also made a surprise appearance on Weekend Update: Summer Edition to debut his impression of Anthony Scaramucci.

“Everybody loves The Mooch,” he said. “I’m like human cocaine. You got a little bump of me, I made you feel excited, but I was out of your system too quick. And now that I’m gone, you’re all depressed and edgy and you’re trying to figure out how to score some more Scaramooch!”
