Westworld adds three more to season 2 cast, including Vikings star
Gustaf Skarsgard, Fares Fares, and Betty Gabriel are joining the HBO thriller
Westworld has rustled up a few more cast members for its sophomore season.
EW has learned that Vikings star Gustaf Skarsgard and Tyrant actor Fares Fares are boarding HBO’s sci-fi thriller as series regulars, while Betty Gabriel (Good Girls Revolt) is coming on as a recurring character.
Skarsgard will play Karl Strand, a white-collar guy who’s comfortable in the field, Fares will portray Antoine Costa, an objective-minded tech expert, and Gabriel will play Maling, a woman trying to restore order on the ground.
The trio join fellow season 2 newcomers Katja Herbers, Neil Jackson, and Jonathan Tucker, as well as promoted season 1 players Talulah Riley and Louis Herthum.
Production on season 2 of Westworld started last month, and co-creator Lisa Joy told EW at Comic-Con that the scope of the show would be expanding. “You’re going to see significantly more of the world next season,” she teased, adding that “the journey of these characters is something we always saw a real evolution to.”
Westworld is set to return to the screen in 2018.
