There’s a new player joining Ryan Murphy’s exclusive circle. The Catch star Peter Krause has joined 9-1-1, the new Murphy drama for Fox that stars Angela Bassett. The procedural explores the stressful lives of police, paramedics, and firefighters, and each story starts with a call to 911.

The drama earned a straight-to-series commitment from Fox (natch) for a mid-season launch. Production begins next month.

Krause recently co-starred opposite Mireille Enos in The Catch, which failed to earn a third season pickup from ABC.

9-1-1 reunites Bassett with Murphy, who included the actress in his American Horror Story franchise.

Murphy says he is committed to have the episodes helmed by women, minorities, and LGBT directors.

Murphy’s frequent collaborator, Brad Falchuk, co-created the series, which will also be executive produced by Tim Minear (Feud, AHS). McG will direct the series premiere.

9-1-1 will premiere in 2018.
