James Corden gets payback on Gordon Ramsay with fishy treat
There was a time — several years ago, in fact — when James Corden appeared on an episode of Gordon Ramsay’s The F Word. The master chef had presented his guest with an oozing fish eye and watched as he tried to swallow it for the cameras. Now that Corden is a big-time late-night personality and Ramsay is a frequent guest on his show, Corden received some glorious payback.
On Wednesday’s The Late Late Show, the host offered Ramsay his own fish eye and said, with Brendan Gleeson as a witness, “I think it’s payback time.”
Ramsay had initially promised Corden and his family a complimentary meal at one of his restaurants if he ate the eye, but it’s been years and they’re still hungry. So Corden made his own promise to Ramsay: “If you eat this, I will give you a slap-up meal at my restaurant, on me — wine, everything.”
“Gordon, it’s been seven years. Eat the eye,” he added.
The real money shot (which you can see below) came when Ramsay placed the eye in his mouth and tried to wash it down with a drink, only to have it all come back up on the Late Late Show stage.
