Stephen Colbert targeted the Senate’s health care bill and “Raiders of the Lost Ark villain halfway through his face melting” Mitch McConnell during a takedown on The Late Show Tuesday night, complete with a striking Westworld comparison.

Earlier in the day, the Senate voted to start debating a bill that would repeal major portions of the Affordable Care Act. “The bill was a total mystery,” Colbert said, since Senate representatives admittedly didn’t know exactly what version of the Republican plan they were voting on. “It’s like Westworld,” the late-night host added in his monologue. “No one knows exactly what’s going on, but it’s probably gonna be a bad thing for women.”

If you’ve seen the HBO series, then you understand the audience’s reaction to that joke.

Colbert struggled to find the words to describe “what our elected leaders have been doing for the last 24 hours,” since he said the Senate “raised the bar on lowering the bar.”

“It’s like describing a new color that you’ve never seen before and this color is made of all the other colors dying, like if a rainbow got gangrene,” Colbert said.
