Grey's Anatomy spin-off adds Rosewood alum
Casting is underway for the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff!
Rosewood‘s Jaina Lee Ortiz has landed a leading role on the firefighter-themed series, EW has confirmed. Deadline first reported the news.
The 10-episode drama will be centered on a group of heroic firefighters, from the captain down to the newest recruit, following the brave men and women as they risk their lives and their hearts — both in the line of duty and off the clock.
Details on Ortiz’s role are being kept under wraps, but the spin-off will launch out of an episode of Grey’s Anatomy this fall.
Stacy McKee (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder) will write and executive produce the series alongside Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Paris Barclay.
Grey’s Anatomy will return for a two-hour premiere on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. More scoop here.
