Tig Notaro clashes with a bigot in One Mississippi season 2 teaser
The semi-autobiographical Amazon comedy returns in September
Tig Notaro faces some bigotry in a new teaser for One Mississippi season 2.
In the new promo — which reveals season 2 premieres Sept. 8 on Amazon Video — a woman asks Tig and Phoebe (Angela Trimbur) to leave what looks to be a doctor’s office because Tig is gay and she assumes Phoebe is as well. Armed with her trademark dry sense of humor, Tig says she’s no longer gay because she decided to be straight right in that moment. The woman doesn’t believe it.
“I am not stupid,” says the woman behind the desk. Tig quickly responds, “Well, I disagree.”
Here’s the official synopsis for the Amazon comedy’s new season:
“Love is in the air in when we pick back up with Tig (Tig Notaro), her stepfather Bill (John Rothman) and her brother Remy (Noah Harpster), living together again in the family’s home in Mississippi. It’s a season of new beginnings and new relationships for each of them, all of which test their personal status quo… as well as family boundaries. Tig resumes her radio career in Biloxi with producer Kate (Stephanie Allynne) by her side, though her outspoken point of view proves controversial for the local market. An opportunity to take a bigger stage in New Orleans comes with more reach, and also more responsibility.”
