What if the famous Richard III line went like this? “Now is the winter of our discontent — and why is there discontent? Because you won’t let me buy a motorcycle. I am man in midlife. I want my crisis! I want a sportscar! I need to do hot yoga…”

Inspired by TNT’s young Shakespeare series, Will, Kenneth Branagh put a new twist on the medieval playwright for Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show. This promo for a spoof TV show, Mr. Will, sees a middle-aged Shakespeare drinking beer with a koozie — and the project has already been canceled.

This Shakespeare is “older, more mature, and with love handles.”

“It’s the show no one had the guts to make because no one thought it was a good idea… until now,” the voiceover said.

Branagh, a five-time Oscar nominee, appeared on The Late Show Friday night for his latest film, Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. But he also got to promote Viagra, the sponsor of Mr. Will. “It hath screwed my courage to the sticking place,” he said.
