Melissa Joan Hart directed a creepy Lifetime movie starring Anjelica Huston
On October 21, the past will not be ignored.
Lifetime is bringing back the cult classic The Watcher in the Woods, with a brand new cast starring Anjelica Huston in a role originated by Bette Davis.
Based on a 1976 novel, the film tells the tale of Mrs. Alywood (Huston), whose young daughter mysteriously disappeared into the woods in the English countryside over 20 years ago. When her new neighbors bear a striking resemblance to her missing child, a supernatural mystery is set in play. The original 1980 film was produced by Walt Disney Productions targeting young adult audiences and has become a cult classic; Lifetime’s reboot appears to be a bit darker and more frightening.
The new thriller is directed and executive-produced by Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch). It will premiere on Lifetime Oct. 21.
