Fox News ticker misspells Jared Kushner's name as Jared Kosher
The White House senior adviser is an Orthodox Jew
President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner made headlines Wednesday thanks to an eyebrow-raising typo on Fox News.
During a Fox & Friends segment about Kushner’s meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, the ticker misspelled his name as “Jared Kosher.” The error was quickly corrected, but not before it was noticed by Twitter users, who pointed out that the typo was curious considering Kushner is an Orthodox Jew (his wife Ivanka Trump, who serves as an assistant to the president, converted before their wedding in 2009).
Fox News had no comment.
It’s not the first time a major news outlet has misused a Jewish term; Trump surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes infamously referred to Molotov cocktails in a JAY-Z music video as “mazel tov cocktails” on CNN last winter.
