Get on up: The new trailer for HBO’s upcoming series The Deuce takes a deeper dive into the seedy underbelly of Times Square — and its burgeoning porn industry — in the 1970s.

In the new look at the show, debuting later this year, we meet twins Vincent and Frankie Martino (both played by James Franco) and entrepreneurial sex worker Eileen “Candy” Merrell (Maggie Gyllenhaal) as they start thinking about their futures in the industry. When David Krumholtz’s character declares, “There’s been a change in the law about community standards… apparently, New York has none,” they see opportunity.

“I’m the center of things now,” one of Franco’s twins tells Zoe Kazan. “I’m building something.”

The eight-episode series was created by The Wire‘s David Simon and his frequent collaborator George Pelecanos. Gary Carr, Margarita Levieva, Emily Meade, and Lawrence Gilliard Jr. also star.

The Deuce premieres on Sept. 10 on HBO.
