One of the internet rumors about the next season of American Horror Story that keeps resurfacing is the idea that Bates Motel star Vera Farmiga will be appearing. But EW can confirm that Farmiga’s involvement is just wishful thinking — the actress will NOT pop up in season 7.

Farmiga’s younger sister, Taissa, has appeared in three installments of the franchise — Murder House, Coven, and Roanoke — and Vera is well-experienced in the horror genre between Motel and The Conjuring films, so it’s not entirely out of reach to wish for the actress to join the series, especially now that Motel has ended. There’s even an entire Reddit thread devoted to this supposed casting.

American Horror Story‘s next season, set around the 2016 election, is currently in production and stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Alison Pill, Cheyenne Jackson, Adina Porter and Colton Haynes. It will premiere this fall on FX.

An anthology series that centers on different characters and locations, including a haunted house, an insane asylum, a witch coven, a freak show and a hotel.
