Stephen Colbert imagines Trump obstruction of justice investigation as superhero movie
And the 'Late Show' host wants Hugh Jackman to play him in a movie about the Trump presidency
Justice League doesn’t come out until November, but Stephen Colbert is already pitching a political spin-off.
A day after The Washington Post reported Donald Trump is under investigation for possible obstruction of justice in regards to his handling of the FBI’s inquiry into Russia’s involvement in the election, Colbert reacted to the news on Thursday’s The Late Show.
“This is a historic moment,” he declared. “The president of the United States is presently under criminal investigation. When the movie comes out, this will definitely be in it. And I will definitely be played by Hugh Jackman.”
Despite wanting to be portrayed by an actor from the Marvel Universe, the host referenced DC’s group of superheroes in his description of Robert Mueller’s investigative team.
“To find out what happened, he’s put together what’s been described as an all-star legal team,” said Colbert. “Mueller is like Batman, putting together The Flash, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman to create the Obstruction of Justice League.”
