See the first trailer for Jason Bateman's money-laundering drama Ozark
- TV Show
Jason Bateman’s summer is going to involve these activities: Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
The Arrested Development alum takes a turn into darkness with Ozark, a 10-episode anxiety-drenched Netflix drama in which he stars as a strait-laced financial planner named Marty who happens to be moonlighting as a money-launderer for a drug lord (Esai Morales). After things go to hell — and under threat of death — Marty slips out of Chicago and relocates with his wife, Wendy (Laura Linney) and two kids to the Lake of the Ozark, where he will try to clean millions of illicit dollars and turn them into… hundreds of millions of dollars. Based on the first trailer for the series, he’s in way over his head, and in a sea of fear, danger, fire, and cash. “Look around!” Wendy shouts at him, “this place is death!”
Looks like this place will be worth visiting come July, when Ozark starts streaming on Netflix.
Bateman also directed four episodes of the series and serves as an executive producer.
