Supernatural: Mark Sheppard says it's 'time for something new'

Supernatural‘s season 12 finale left the fate of many characters up in the air, but for Castiel and Crowley, their fates were sealed… or so it seemed. Despite the fact that Lucifer stabbed Castiel with an angel blade, actor Misha Collins has said that there is a future for his character, which isn’t too shocking considering the show’s history with bringing people back. However, for Crowley, it’s looking like his death could stick.

In the season’s final hour, Crowley stepped up and sacrificed himself in order to help the Winchesters trap Lucifer in an alternate world. More specifically, he took an angel blade to his own stomach in what was easily his most selfless moment to date. And now, actor Mark Sheppard has taken to Instagram to thank the Supernatural fans “for the ride.” According to Sheppard, it’s “time for something new.”
