Hulu’s buzzy dystopian nightmare is getting a second season — The Handmaids Tale has been renewed by the streaming service.

A renewal for the future-set drama, based on Margaret Atwood’s novel and starring Mad Men alum Elisabeth Moss, was considered an easy decision: It’s probably Hulu’s biggest original series breakout yet and averages a 92 out of 100 on critic aggregate site Metacritic. There’s no return date for the series, but next year seems like a good bet.

The announcement was made at Hulu’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on Wednesday. The service also announced straight-to-series orders for new Hulu Originals The First (a return to television for House of Cards creator Beau Willimon) and Marvel’s Runaways (from The O.C. duo Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage).

Hulu also picked up the exclusive streaming rights to FX’s award-winning comedy series Atlanta and NBC’s This Is Us. Plus Hulu announced a live-streaming service (details here).
