In the age of television reboots fueled by ’80s and ’90s nostalgia, would a Family Matters revival be so farfetched? Nope. So, stars Jaleel White (Steve Urkel) and Darius McCrary (Eddie Winslow) gauged interest for a reunion on social media with a photo on Tuesday.
“How many of you would love to see a ‘Family Matters’ Reunion?!” McCrary tweeted.
A Family Matters reboot is not currently in the works — at least, not yet. But if Boy Meets World can be spun off with Girl Meets World, if Full House and Gilmore Girls can return on Netflix, if Mulder and Scully can keep investigating paranormal activity with The X-Files, if Showtime can bring viewers back to Twin Peaks, then why can’t the Winslows and their nerdy neighbor return to the small screen?
Maybe it’s Kobe Bryant’s Urkel slam poetry session that brought Family Matters back to the spotlight.
