Emma and Hook will soon tie the knot on Once Upon a Time — and EW has the exclusive first look.
During the highly anticipated musical episode, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) intends to marry Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), but her prophesied death and the ultimate showdown with the Black Fairy (Jaime Murray) also await.
“Emma knows the Final Battle is in front of her, but she, in this moment, is brave and is not going to let the troubles of whatever they’re dealing with get in the way of her happiness,” EP Edward Kitsis says of the photo below. “She’s truly following her mother’s advice to live her life.”
Or, well, maybe live what’s left of it? “She either dies, or she doesn’t die, or something else happens,” EP Adam Horowitz says coyly.
Will this wedding get interrupted much like Snow and Charming’s was? That remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say that the Final Battle looms large on their big day. “In our minds, the Final Battle is probably not what you think it is,” Kitsis says. “Like any good battle, sometimes it’s not a battle in the literal sense of a fight.” Horowitz adds: “It is a battle, it is different than the ones we’ve seen before, and it is very personal to Emma.”
Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Stay tuned for much more scoop on the musical hour, as well as the two-hour season finale.
