Finally, a brief reprieve from the Droughtlander!

Starz on Thursday released new images from season 3 of Outlander in preparation for its release of a new teaser trailer debuting this Sunday. The sneak peek from the new season, which will premiere in September, will air before the debut of The White Princess. Set your DVRs, Sassenachs!

The new images, which appear to have been captured when filming occurred in Scotland last year, features Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, and Tobias Menzies as Frank Randall.

The season will begin in two different centuries: After Claire traveled through the stones at Craigh na Dun at the end of season 2, Jamie stayed behind in the 1700s to fight in the Battle of Culloden. Claire returned to her life with husband Frank in the 1960s. Time traveler definitely suits our heroine; despite a few strands of gray hair, Claire looks like she hasn’t aged a bit!

The production moved earlier this year to the Cape Town Studios in South Africa, where Starz’ other drama Black Sails had been filming. The actors have commandeered the old ships used for the pirate drama to help depict the second half of the series when Claire and Jamie set sail to the Caribbean.

Season 3 is based upon Voyager, the third book in Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling book series. The author, who told her Twitter followers that she’s only consulting this year and won’t make cameos (dang!), recently traveled to South Africa to visit the set.
