Peter Paige previews what's happening to each character in six words or less
Answers are coming. Not just on tonight’s season 4 finale of The Fosters, but right here, in this post. Kinda.
In preparation for all that’s coming, we got on the phone with executive producer Peter Paige and asked him to tell us exactly what was up with each member of the Adams-Foster family in this episode… but with a catch: We only allowed him to answer in six words or less. He was undoubtedly and impressively up to the challenge. So, without further ado, here are his haiku-flavored teases:
Callie (Maia Mitchell), who may or may not be heading to jail after fleeing a car crash: “Deadlines looming. In over her head.”

Jesus (Noah Centineo), who’s recovering from a traumatic brain injury and just realized his girlfriend, Emma (Amanda Leighton), had an abortion: “Why won’t anyone tell me anything?”
Brandon (David Lambert), who still hasn’t found direction after Juilliard rescinded their acceptance and was complicit in hiding Emma’s abortion from Jesus: “The weight of secrets is profound.”
Mariana (Cierra Ramirez), who also kept Emma’s secret: “I’m doing the best I can.”
Jude (Hayden Byerly), who’s spent the season rebelling and in a new relationship: “Hormones are a bitch.”
Stef (Teri Polo), who’s struggling with managing her new job and her kids’ neverending drama: “Family-work balance is beyond challenging.”
Lena (Sherri Saum), who recently found out Anchor Beach, the charter school where she’s the vice principal, may be going private: “Not giving up the fight.”
Try to make heads or tails of those teases as you watch the season 4 finale of The Fosters Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
