Jill Soloway, the Emmy-winning creator behind Amazon’s Transparent, is back with a new series about…well, Dick.

Kathryn Hahn, another face from Transparent, portrays Chris in I Love Dick, which tells the story of a struggling indie filmmaker who drops off her academic husband, Sylvère (Griffin Dunne), at a fellowship program in Marfa, Texas. There she meets Dick (Kevin Bacon), who becomes an obsession for Chris, especially as her big break at the Venice Film Festival falls apart and she’s left in the small town with nothing but her straining marriage and her lust for, again, Dick.

Even as her eye candy rebuffs her, the fantasy flourishes as she begins writing what she calls a “short story disguised as a letter.” One such letter begins, “Dear Dick, you’re like a Roman god bringing the spirit of sex into our lives.” Though she never intends to reveal her work, she realizes it’s probably the best she’s ever written and soon the whole town is reading along.

The cast also includes Roberta Colindrez, India Menuez, Lily Mojekwu, while Soloway executive-produces with Sarah Gubbins, Andrea Sperling, and Victor Hsu. Described as an “exploration of the female gaze and how we tell stories about love and desire,” the series was adapted from the novel of the same name by Chris Kraus.

Season 1 of I Love Dick premieres on Amazon May 12. Watch the Dick-heavy trailer above.
