Dev is living it up in Italy.

After he jets off to Europe to learn about pasta at the end of Master of Noneseason 1, the new season 2 trailer picks up with Aziz Ansari‘s character as he parties with pal Arnold (Eric Wareheim) in the countryside. He eventually has to face reality and return home to the Big Apple, where we see him schmoozing with John Legend, Bobby Cannavale, Angela Bassett, and the Jabbawockeez dance crew.

Mixing in black-and-white footage, the trailer gives Dev his own romanticized short film as he bikes around cobblestoned streets, sips espresso in an Italian cafe, and jumps in a pool with Italian socialites. However, his story is less of a romance as he bounces from date to date looking for love.

Netflix has kept certain plot points under wraps, but with this footage also comes more info. A new synopsis reads, “After traveling abroad, Dev returns to New York to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.”

Master of None season 2 will premiere on Netflix this May 12. Watch the new trailer above.
