Tonight, the comedy zone and strike zone become one with the premiere of Brockmire. The series stars Hank Azaria as Jim Brockmire, a famous baseball announcer who has a meltdown on the air after he learns that his wife is cheating on up and it torches his career. A decade later, he attempts to revive his career when a minor league owner (Amanda Peet) makes him offer that he probably should have refused.

Two episodes debut on IFC tonight (at 10 and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT), and here’s a peek at the second installment, in which Brockmire finds himself in a precarious position with one of the team’s players, a little cocaine, and two women who seem interested in a good time. This comeback thing may be more challenging than he thought.

There will be plenty of Brockmire to go around; the show has already been renewed for a second season.
