The 'Star Trek' vet plays a serial killer who may help Angie
This season on Angie Tribeca, things get weird.
Let’s start that over. This season on Angie Tribeca, things get weirder.
How so? Well, for starters, Chris Pine will guest-star on the police/procedural parody in not one or seven or 19 but exactly three episodes as Dr. Thomas Hornbein. To describe him as a docile street sweeper would be woefully inaccurate because he’s a serial killer nicknamed “The Zookeeeper” that Tribeca (Rashida Jones) brought to justice many years ago. “The Zookeeper” wasn’t so much a zookeeper as an animal rights activist who operated under the belief that it was humans who belonged in zoos.
Check out this exclusive clip from the season 3 premiere — airing April 10 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on TBS —in which Hornbein is surprised to see Tribeca show up for his help on a case that will dominate this season. (“That is ironic, like the way Miss Piggy considers herself desirable,” he says.) Welcome to the Mennen Speed Stick Maximum Security Prison (“We Keep Sweat Locked Up”), where you will see Pine, doing his best Hannibal Lecter, offering up his services to Tribeca in exchange for some very particular demands and giving us the best “quid pro quo” joke you’ll find on TV this year.
Season 3 also features such notable guests as Natalie Portman, Ed Helms, Michelle Dockery, and Jean Smart.
