Tommy Vaughan made his choice during Thursday’s episode of The Catch.
After getting bailed out of jail by Alice’s (Mireille Enos) ex, Tommy (T.R. Knight) confronted his sister in a bid to recover the $3 million so he could disappear. Alas, she refused to play ball, instead wanting to take down the Southland Cartel, thus saving Tommy’s life in the process — which she ultimately does. But when all is said and done, Alice returns to AVI to get the money only to discover Tommy had already absconded with it. Confronting him at the airport, Alice gives Tommy a choice: Family or money. Tommy chooses the latter, with Alice left to yell after him to never come back.
Has Tommy and Alice’s relationship been irrevocably damaged? And does that, therefore, mean we’ve seen the last of Tommy Vaughan? “It seems pretty damaged,” Knight tells EW. “There is that part of Tommy that’s like a bad rash — you think maybe you’ve taken care of it and then maybe not. So I will say this: he’s going to have to work hard. I don’t know, repairing that is going to be tricky, so I can say that. I shouldn’t say anything else, though.”
As a Grey’s Anatomy alum, Knight has certainly been trained well in the spoilerphobic ways of Shondaland! But here’s hoping that cryptic answer means Knight will someday return.
The Catch airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
