Drew Barrymore’s going to be undead a little bit longer: Netflix on Wednesday announced in a video that zombie comedy Santa Clarita Diet has been renewed for a second season.

The first season of the show follows Sheila (Barrymore) and Joel (Timothy Olyphant) as they figure out how to maintain their marriage — and a normal life — after the former suddenly becomes undead, leaving them with no choice but to kill humans to feed her growing appetite.

“What I enjoyed was that it seemed absolutely nuts and unlike anything I’d read before,” Olyphant previously told EW. “And yet, at the same time, oddly familiar. I thought, ‘This is like ALF.

Better Off Ted‘s Victor Fresco created the show, which ended its first season with Joel presumably getting hospitalized after revealing a little too much to a psychiatrist and Sheila reaching a new, dangerous level of undead development.

“We wanted to keep ratcheting things up and we knew we wanted to end on a fun cliffhanger to get us into a second season,” Fresco said. “Through the course of the season, their lives are slowly going more and more off the rails, and then we leave them at this place where their lives have gone off the rails.”
