Trevor Noah was one of many who were shocked to see President Trump promote a Fox News segment hours before the anchor called for House Speaker Paul Ryan’s resignation.

“Wow. That Fox News s— was insane,” Noah said on The Daily Show Monday night. “In fact, it sounds just like North Korea’s propaganda news.”

On Saturday, Trump tweeted for his followers to watch Justice With Judge Jeanine with Jeanine Pirro, who immediately began her 9 p.m. segment with a fervent opening statement: “Paul Ryan needs to step down as Speaker of the House. The reason? He failed to deliver the votes on his healthcare bill…”

“Not only did Judge Jeanine blame Ryan, she also heavily defended Trump but in a way that somehow also insulted him,” Noah continued.

“You know what she sounds like?” he explained. “She sounds like a mom who’s blaming other kids for something her stupid son did willingly. That’s what she sounds like. She’s going off. He’s the president, and now she’s there like, ‘Paul Ryan, you should know better, you should know my son doesn’t know anything about health care. Johnny trusted you, he’s a slow boy.”

When Fox News’ Chris Wallace interviewed Reince Priebus, the White House chief of staff promised Trump’s plug of the show was just “coincidental,” while The Hollywood Reporter states Fox News claimed no one tipped off the president to Pirro’s segment. However, the last time Trump promoted Justice With Judge Jeanine on Twitter, it was in August when his own interview aired.
