Norman Lear to appear on The Simpsons
The 'All in the Family' creator will make a cameo
A comedy legend is joining forces with a legendary comedy.
Norman Lear will make a brief cameo in an episode of The Simspons, EW has learned. The 94-year-old TV creator/producer who was responsible for such hits as All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and Good Times will play himself in a scene that involves the theme song from one of his shows. The episode is expected to air this fall on Fox as part of season 29.
Lear remains active in Hollywood, currently serving as an executive producer of the Netflix reboot of his 1975-84 comedy One Day at a Time. He also was an executive producer of EPIX’s 2016 docuseries America Divided and was the focus of the 2016 documentary, Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You.
Earlier this year at the Producers Guild Awards, Simpsons executive producer James L. Brooks received the Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television.
Season 28 guest stars include Amy Schumer, Allison Janney, Sarah Silverman, Snoop Dogg, and Patton Oswalt.
