Shaquille O’Neal made headlines when he seemingly claimed to believe the earth is flat. While he later clarified his comments as a joke, he addressed them again on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night, promising, “I’m just joking, relax.”

“Of course it was [a joke],” Shaq said. “They got upset, and my theory is, I bought a bus a couple summers ago, so when I drive from Florida to California it seems flat to me. So, you ever been in a flight, you’re getting ready to land, and you pull up the window and you look? It seems flat, right? So that was my theory. I’m just joking, relax.”

The former basketball star joked about getting involved with another conspiracy theory, though: Bigfoot. “Know what’s funny? One time in Seattle in a snowstorm, somebody took a picture of me and showed it to me, and I really looked like Bigfoot,” he said.

“Shaq-squatch is one nickname you never got,” Kimmel quipped.
