FBI Director James Comey’s testimony that the bureau has been quietly investigating whether members of President Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election dropped like a bombshell Monday, and Seth Meyers attempted to make sense of it all with the help of Game of Thrones.

On Monday’s episode of Late Night, Meyers referenced how Comey handled things quite differently back in October, when he announced that the FBI was renewing its probe into Hillary Clinton’s emails just weeks before the election.

“I’m not saying Comey cost Clinton the election,” he said, “but his name is definitely on the list that Hillary mutters like Arya Stark when she’s walking in the woods: James Comey, WikiLeaks, the Hound, Anthony Weiner.”

Meyers also said the investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia is “a huge, huge deal, and yet only 60 days into this administration, you hear that, and you’re like, ‘eh.’ At this point, Melania would have to take Trump on a high-speed chase in a Ford Bronco for us to say, ‘This is unexpected.'”
