Talk about getting stood up: Ewan McGregor showed up for the press day for T2: Trainspotting in New York City on Tuesday, only to find that the hotel was virtually void of journalists.

“Where are the press, though?” the actor wrote on Instagram before laughing about the barren hallways on Late Night with Seth Meyers. “Nobody really showed, no,” McGregor said. “We did all the interviews by phone, yeah. We got there, but none of the journalists did.”

Typically for press junkets, the actors are set up in separate hotel rooms as reporters from various outlets are funneled in and out to conduct interviews. “Usually there’s probably about, I don’t know, 50 to 100 reporters come in and out,” McGregor explained to Meyers.

That day, however, happened to be during winter storm Stella, which caused many of the subways to be delayed or shut down.

“Well, I am here!” McGregor joked in a photo on Instagram.
