She may have lost the election, but that hasn’t dampened former president Selina Meyer’s fighting spirit from the looks of the new trailer for Veep’s sixth season.

The Emmy Award-winning series returns to HBO in April and picks up after Selina’s (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) defeat in the season 5 finale. But there’s no time for self-pity: In the preview that premiered Monday at SXSW, Meyer contends that “this last year has been fun, really fun!” She adds that she’s taken time to get reacquainted “with an old friend, Selina Meyer.”

That’s enough pleasantries, though. Soon enough fighting talk takes over, as she warns Congressman Ryan (Timothy Simons) that she will destroy him “in ways that are so creative they will honor me for it at the Kennedy Center.”

Some of those creative ways include cluelessly volunteering with kids during National Volunteer Week, visiting a refugee camp — surrounded by landlines just like Princess Diana — and having a full-body portrait painted that extenuates her best features.

The new season of Veep premieres Sunday, April 16 at 10:30 p.m. ET on HBO.
