Things are about to get a whole lot more unfortunate over at Netflix. After a favorable reception of season 1 of A Series of Unfortunate Events, which dropped in January, the streaming behemoth announced this week that the Baudelaire children will return for another round of mystery and mayhem at the hands of Count Olaf (a marvelously campy Neil Patrick Harris).

The series, based on the treasured collection of faux-gothic YA books by Daniel Handler, was first adapted into a feature length film in 2004 starring Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep. But most would agree the current adaptation does the series more proud, as EW’s Jeff Jensen attested in his review of this “delightfully baroque and busy pocket universe.
