The Trump-backed plan to replace former President Obama’s Affordable Care Act was met with considerable opposition this week, including from some conservative House Republicans, prompting the president to throw a White House bowling party to smooth things over.

Never one to pass up a punning opportunity, Stephen Colbert skewered Trump’s 10-pin powwow on Thursday’s episode of The Late Show.

“Trump, master deal maker that he is, has a plan to win conservatives over,” Colbert said in his monologue. “He has invited them to strike a deal over a few frames at the White House bowling alley. Yeah, Trump wants to be there as the Republicans throw their balls away.”

Colbert went on to blast Trump’s backup strategy, which is to “allow Obamacare to fail and let Democrats take the blame,” per CNN.

“Okay, hold on there, chief,” Colbert said. “You’re in charge now. If you let health care collapse, we won’t blame the Democrats — we will blame you. That’s like a firefighter letting a house burn down to make the space heater look bad.”

The Late Show airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
