To save their movie, they’re gonna need Melissa McCarthy.

From executive producers and real-life couple McCarthy and Ben Falcone comes TV Land’s new comedy series, Nobodies, about three screenwriters — Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf, and Rachel Ramras — desperate to woo an A-lister in order to sell their script. As revealed in EW’s exclusive trailer, the course of Hollywood stardom never did run smooth.

Davidson, Dorf, and Ramras write, executive produce, and star in Nobodies. The dynamite guest star roster is a who’s who of potential suitors for their movie, a project called Mr. First Lady. “Trying to get a celebrity attached to try to help sell it,” they reason. “This way Melissa will just sort of be naturally tricked into doing it.”

That’s easier said than done: “Shut up!” McCarthy responds. “You shut your big-toothed, big bushy-browed face. God, you’ve got a dumb face.”

Allison Janney, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jim Rash, and Nat Faxon also guest on Nobodies, while McCarthy’s husband Ben Falcone directs and features in the pilot episode. The celebrity couple previously collaborated on Tammy and The Boss.

A special screening of Nobodies will be held at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, on Monday, March 13, followed by a Q&A with the cast and producers moderated by EW’s Christopher Rosen.

The series will premiere on TV Land Wednesday, March 29 at 10 p.m. ET.
